Pasil barangay cleared of communist terrorist groups influence

Pasil, Kalinga – Barangay Guina-ang of Pasil was officially declared by the Philippine Army as cleared of the influence of the communist terrorist groups (CTG) after having satisfied all required parameters.

The resolution stipulating the CTG-cleared status of Guina-ang was handed by the 503rd Infantry Brigade to Councilor Ronnie Bawalan on January 21 at Calanan, Tabuk City.

According to Bawalan, the clearing of the said barangay from CTG affection will pave the way for uninterrupted delivery of basic services.

In addition, Guina-ang will be included in the implementation of the plans, programs, and projects of the national task force this 2022, such as the barangay developments.

Clearing of Guina-ang from CTG influence

Bawalan disclosed that the barangay has long been battling against the influence of CTG even before the winning of Bayan Muna Partylist. Efforts have been made since then.

The resolution, he received, explained that on May 07, 2021, the Area Clearing Evaluation Team (ACET) of the 503rd IB which is tasked to evaluate the efforts of the clearing unit, the 50th Infantry Battalion conducted the evaluation proceedings at the Municipal Hall in Guina-ang.

The evaluation team found that parameters, as indicated in the Joint Letter Directive No. 3 Revised Version (S-2020), were duly satisfied by the clearing unit.

Further, the Area Clearing Validation Board (ACVB) of the 5th Infantry Division deliberated and validated the report of ACET on December 07, 2021.

The validated report was forwarded to the regional Joint AFP-PNP Intelligence Committee (JAPIC).

Observing from the reports that there are no CTG Politico-Military Structures in the barangay, the board approved the clearing of Guina-ang and endorsed it to the Unified Command Validation Board for further confirmation.
