Pasil, Kalinga – Scoring 100 percent in the indicators used to measure the functionality of the municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs), Pasil in Kalinga is among the recipients of the national ADAC performance award.

Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. along with Vice-Mayor Venancio Magangat, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Helen Lacuesta, Provincial Director Anthony Manolo I. Ballug of DILG-Kalinga, and Jack Gamatero of the same office received the plaque for the 2022 performance award on December 13, at the Manila Hotel.

Given by DILG, the award is conferred to Local Government Units with effective and efficient performance in terms of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs of the national government's anti-illegal drugs campaign.

Also, the award assesses the ADAC functionality in the barangays, the sustainability of Drug-Cleared or Drug-Free Status, and the reduction of drug affectation.

The indicators include the creation or reorganization of ADAC (10%), allocation of a substantial amount as indicated in the ADAC plan (15%), formulation and implementation of plans and programs (40%), supervision and support to component ADACs (20%), conduct of meetings (10%), and innovations (5%).

An ADAC may only be eligible for awards if it garners an overall performance score in the functionality audit of 85 to 100 points.

As for Pasil, it achieved 100 percent for both functionality and awarding scores.

Of the 14 villages in the municipality, 11 were earlier declared drug-free areas while Balatoc, Balinciagao Sur, and Dangtalan were drug-cleared.

The award, Malannag stated, is a result of the cooperation and convergence effort of the government officials, heads, employees and the community members as a whole.
