Pasil, Kalinga – Through its council, the municipal government of Pasil proposed the funding of P102 million worth of infrastructure projects to spur socio-economic growth in the area.

Members of the Sangguniang Bayan penned Municipal Resolution No. 2022-79, seeking P90 million in funding for three road openings and improvement from the Department of Agrarian Reform thru Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang.

According to the council members, the opening of new routes and improvement of existing roads must be addressed. These roads are too narrow and steep and on some occasions claimed lives and properties due to accidents.

The incumbent local administration echoed ‘the road to development is the road itself’, saying new road constructions are needed as networks reach far-flung communities and help in the transport of their produce.

Projects proposed to DAR are the improvement/opening of Ableg-Dalupa-Lonong Road, Tucol to Dangla road opening, and Simangan to Pugong Wagas road improvement. Each project costs P30 million.

Meanwhile, financial assistance for another two road improvements worth P10 million was requested from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Officer-in-Charge, Tina Rose Marie L. Canda.

Contained in Municipal Resolution No. 2022-73 is the local chief executive’s letter of intent to avail of said financial aid from the Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to LGUs, Fiscal year 2022.

The fund shall be utilized for the improvement of Puapo-Pasil River Road and Amdalao-Pasil River Road (Allagao Section) worth P5 million each.

Moreover, a P2 million fund for the construction of Barangay Clinic in Balinciagao Sur was endorsed to the Office of Congressman Mangaoang.

The council explained the community of said barangay is being served by the health station of Balinciagao Norte. Most of the time, clients are reached by health providers carrying limited items.

The increasing number of patients shows the need for a health facility center, especially for preventive measures.

Due to meager resources, the municipal level could not afford to finance the much-needed clinic, thus the request.

The officials are hopeful for the approval of their request to help their constituents.
