Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Pasil, Kalinga – The Local Government Unit of Pasil under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo Malannag Jr. will be giving cash incentives, to recognize and boost the morale of elementary and secondary students who brought honor and prestige to the municipality in terms of sports and academic excellence.

Through a Municipal Ordinance No. 2020-14 known as “The Gawad Galing Batang Pasilian Ordinance” authored by Councilor Ronnie B. Bawalan, funds were allocated.

According to Bawalan, the ordinance was crafted to motivate students to pursue excellence in sports and in their academic feat and inspire the young to persevere and do their best.

“Adu pay laeng dagiay studyante a nalalaing ket kasla haan da nga ipapati kasi diay reason ket awan ti pagplete, kurang ti budget a mapan maki-contest,” Bawalan said.

Cash incentive for individual and group events

The ordinance provides that P2,000.00 each shall be given to students who participated in the individual or group event at a provincial level, P4,000.00 for a regional level, and P6,000.00 for a national level.

School administrators were also directed to inform the municipal government unit of Pasil of elementary or secondary students who achieved academic, athletic, or extra-curricular performance with proof or means of verification.

The certificate of recognition and cash incentive shall be conferred upon the arrival of deserving students and shall be acknowledged during Municipal affairs.

The municipality started giving the incentive last school year upon the approval of the ordinance.

Bawalan disclosed that 8 students who participated and garnered first to third place in Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Arts and Culture Program of Kalinga Provincial Police Office in July 2021 will be receiving their incentive during the Municipal flag ceremony on Monday, August 23.

The incentive, he added, is on top of the solicited amount of students from the officials.

“I’m encouraging the youth wennu students nga makisali da iti anyaman nga sport activities ti munisipyo or province tapnu adda met chance da nga mapan idiay ngatu. Malay mo ngay nu agbalin dan tu nga nalaing nga swimmer or boksingero,” Bawalan said.
