Pasil Mayor commended for quick disaster response to aid quake-affected residents

Pasil, Kalinga – Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. of Pasil received commendation from his constituents for his quick response and high work efficiency when the municipality was affected by the powerful Luzon earthquake.


With the impact of the magnitude 7 quake that jolted Abra, the people of Pasil suffered from landslides that even resulted into road closures. Nearly a hundred houses in the town were reported damaged.


The community, nevertheless, did not suffer much longer with the immediate resolution of Mayor Malannag Jr.

Appreciation posts to the mayor


Some Pasil residents took to social media to express their gratitude and appreciation to the mayor. Delia Daguio, for one, posted that “since the July 27 earthquake, there were many landslides along Uma to Balatoc. One call to Mayor Chao-ig would prompt his instructions to mobilize backhoes to clear the landslides.”


“Other than this, giving out relief goods, damage assessment, and needs analysis was quickly done. Thank you Mayor for your quick response and service to constituents,” Daguio added.


Further, many yPasil residents recognized Malannag for keeping them updated through his social media page where videos of him inspecting the landslide areas can be viewed.

In his latest disaster update, he informed that all roads including Daldalacan Section-Amdalao-Malucsad-Magsilay-Limo-od Road are already open to traffic.


However, the public is advised that the roads are not totally safe from rock falls especially during rainy days.
