Pasil Mayor Malannag Jr. lauds employee with “Excellence Award”

Pasil, Kalinga – Being a municipal accountant who takes charge of the stewardship of public funds requires a great deal of work and to be awarded at the national level entails dedication and hard work, deserving of the honor.

On May 23, Pasil Municipal Accountant Yolanda D. Wanasen was hailed as an outstanding accountant, thus receiving Excellence Award from the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants, Inc. (PhALGA) during its 18th Annual National Conference (ANC) awarding held at KCC Mall, General Santos City.

The award, according to Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., was given in recognition of the government accountants’ ‘commendable role in obtaining an Unmodified Opinion or clean financial statement from the Commission on Audit on their annual audit reports.’

The performance of Wanasen, as added by the mayor, not only contributed to the municipality’s financial management, transparency, and accountability but to the overall local governance.

“This serves as an inspiration for our fellow public servants to give their best in the performance of their duties,” Malannag stated on his social media page.

The excellence awardee is a testament that officials and employees in the locality uphold the public interest over their personal matters.
