Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Pasil, Kalinga – The local government of Pasil under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. is rebranding and repackaging its tourism industry for the gradual reopening of the municipality after a two-year hiatus.

Working with the consulting agency, the Municipal Tourism Office with the assistance of Municipal Administrator Milagros Batalao visited potential destinations to determine necessary preparations.

Apart from the sites, the practices and intangible cultural heritage were likewise included in the list of those that will be developed and promoted. Among these are Slow Food and Dangtalan pottery.

“So meron kaming consultant na nag-photoshoot on the different tourist spots of Pasil. From that, we will be making information materials for our tourism program,” Batalao said.

The team is currently working on tour packages and will soon have brochures and ‘coffee table book.’

“Dapat pag sinabing package, meron na dun yung point of entry mo, ano yung sasakyan mo, how long are you travelling to this place, ano yung pwede mong pagtulogan doon, is it a homestay? Anya ti panganan nga mabalin, anya ti activities,” explained the Administrator.

“Hopefully, nu maplantsa daytoy, it will be a viable income-generating, tourism boosting activity,” she added.

The municipality is also working on guidelines for the safety of tourists.

Pasil tourism rebranding will be presented to the public during the municipality’s 56th Founding Anniversary this Saturday, June 18, 2022.
