Pasil, Kalinga - To lessen the burden of the three cancer and three dialysis patients, the Youth Volunteers Group of Pasil headed by Municipal Coordinator Chan Keight Patongao initiated a “Fun Run for a Cause” to be held on December 18, 2021.
According to Municipal Secretary Aiza Patongao, the youth organization selected indigent patients as beneficiaries because of the expensive medication and treatment payment.
“Bakit po Fun Run? Alam po namin na maraming nangyaring donation drive para sa mga nabanggit na beneficiaries natin pero gusto ho namin this time na mabigyan ang mga donors/participants ng chance to know each other personally, to exercise together, to have a relaxation together, and to enjoy each other's company through this run,” explained Patongao.
Believing that "A Good Cause unites all the willing Hearts," all proceeds of the event will be divided into the six recipients.
The dialysis patients are Maribeth M. Bakidan of Ableg, Bambie Dona-al of Cagaluan, and Norberto Maraño of Balinciagao Norte while the cancer patients are Wyndale Gaddawan of Balinciagao Norte, Mike B. Miguel of Pugong, and Rowena D. Walis of Dangtalan will also benefit from the said activity.
With the approval of the local government unit of Pasil under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., the fun run will start at 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 18 and will follow the route from Cagaluan - Acacia Gym - Putao Waiting Shed - Pingaw - Bangyan - DENR - Lutot - Bockiao - Cagaluan Acacia Gym.
