Luna, Apayao – The country’s largest business organization Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has inducted its new set of officers for Apayao chapter on Monday, Dec.16, 2024.

The group was formed to act as a collective voice of the business sectors in the province, aimed at promoting and protecting its members’ interest and advancing socio-economic development provincewide.

PCCI-CAR Regional Governor Deimler O. Cuyan inducted said officers during the Investment Forum organized by the PLGU LEDIPO led by its chief Philip Uba at the Aliwa gymnasium.

Inducted into office were Honey Belle C. Loyon from Conner, owner of JL gas stations as President, Tonton Louie L. Talimbatog from Kabugao as Vice President, Maricel Pascua from Pudtol as Secretary, Revelyn Galut from Pudtol as Treasurer, and Edilyn Caluya from Santa Marcela as Auditor. The Board of Directors were Bryan Rigos and Romel Requino (Kabugao), Henzel Pascua and Sally Arriola (Santa Marcela), Rowena Denus and Kelvin Sagisi (Pudtol), Sheryl Domingo and Maricel Rigates (Luna), Rosemarie Maglay and Engr. In his speech, Cuyan urged new officers to exhibit entrepreneurial mindset to succeed in business ventures and to contribute to job creation, poverty alleviation, and building sustainable, resilient and inclusive growth for Apayao.

“What we really need to start up a business and to make it succeed is Entrepreneurial mindset, the capital is secondary,’’ he said.

Cuyan also emphasized the value of oneness and harmonious relationships with the government, local chambers and other business organizations to succeed with its objectives.

“We exist not to become competitors in business but as complementors for one another,’’ he added.

For the part of the PLGU Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO), its chief Philip Uba mentioned the dilemma of the office lies on determining who are serious to engage in business. He said by becoming a member of the chamber unlocks opportunities for wider networks and capacity- building initiatives.

Meantime, PCCI Baguio-Benguet Executive Director Trinidad C. Trinidad explained the re-organization and reactivation of Apayao chapter officers will ensure economic progress in the locality as it is founded on its huge networks of 123 local chambers nationwide.
