‘Peace, unity, and public service: key ingredients of Tabuk City's success’- Gov. Tubban

Tabuk City, Kalinga - Provincial Governor Engr. Ferdinand B. Tubban, in his message, highlighted the essence of celebrating the 20th Matagoan Festival and Tabuk City’s 14th Founding Anniversary explaining how peace, unity and sacrifice in public service became the main ingredients behind the City's success.

The Celebration held in the Tabuk City Hall Compound was attended by Mayor Darwin Estranero and Vice-Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as, Former Mayors Atty. Basilio Wandag, Camillo Lammawin, and the Governor along with key figures in the province Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang and Former Governor Macario Duguiang.

Tubban said celebrating Matagoan Festival and Tabuk Founding Anniversary is not for the leaders or the employees alone but for the whole citizenry, and thus the necessity to understand its history and respect its journey.

What to remember when celebrating Matagoan Festival and Tabuk City Founding Anniversary?

The provincial governor stressed that people should remember that “Matagoan Festival is an epitome of peace, a paragon of harmony amidst diversity” and that “No differences or problems, even as huge as the Covid-19 should take away our peace-loving nature.”

Tubban likewise added that local leaders should lead by example, emphasizing that “If we want peace, we don’t prepare weapons of war, we prepare a gift or token of friendship.”

The next point that Tubban mentioned is the unity that resulted in the City Founding Anniversary. “We can do only little things when we work alone… I have never seen one man built an empire,” Tubban said alluding to the primacy of working together which translated the dreams of the former leaders into reality - the birth of Tabuk City as the second regional center in the Cordilleras.

Finally, Tubban said that apart from the two other points, it is sacrifice in public service that gradually pushed the City into progress and development. With this, he asked leaders to deliver their promises and stay committed for the whole citizenry of Tabuk who they serve.

“Let us then be a good example of peace, unity and public service for progress and development. Kadatayo amin ditoy let us all remain resilient and united not only during celebrations but in all the days of life,” Tubban concluded.
