Petition to prevent use of school as Tabuk City temporary isolation unit terminated

Tabuk City, Kalinga― The petition by over 300 residents of Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City against the plan to use Agbannawag National High School (ANHS) as an isolation unit for CoViD-19 positive cases has been terminated after a collaborative meeting led by Punong Barangay Zarex Guisob.

The petition, released on January 20, 2021, said the residents of the Purok 1, Agbannawag are not allowing the ANHS 4-storey building to be an isolation unit for CoViD-19 positive cases since the location of the school is close to residences.

Additionally, petitioners believed that there are other facilities which can be used instead of the said school, explaining that it could be one of the causes of possible increase in CoViD-19 cases in the barangay.

Upon knowing the petition, Agbannawag Punong Barangay Zarex Guisob narrated that he arranged a meeting with the petitioners to discuss the matter.

“Ta adda ngay diyay petition da ngarud nga signed by more or less 300 individuals tatta ket in explain ko kanyada nga anya ngay ti sabali nga mangipanan tayo ket anusan tayo ah ta ditoy Agbannawag ti ayan ti mabalin nga facilities nga mausar, agitinnulong tayo ah ta taga Kalinga metlang dagita met kunak,” he said.

“Ket nu anya man ti maipaay tayo nga tulong kadagita ta haan tayo met kayatan dayta nga sakit da nu kaspangarigan ket tulungan tayo ida kunak met ket haan nga bale ta nu anya man ti mabalin nga panakaremedyo na tapno kasta ket haan kayo maapektaran dita isu ti aramiden tayo,” he added.

He even assured that this should not cause fear and panic among the residents as higher barricades shall be established to avoid occurrence of escape and further problems later on.

On the other hand, he reported the said matter to the City Inter agency Task Force (IATF). Hence, the preparation of the building is ongoing.
