Philippine Army, Gov. Edduba collaborate to maintain peace and order in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To ensure that peace and order in Kalinga will be sustained, Governor James Edduba and the Philippine Army forged closer collaboration anew to enhance the peace and order in the province.

This partnership came after the 5th Infantry Division Commander Major General Gulliver Señire, along with other top army officials, visited the governor’s office last Friday, July 12, 2024.

During their meeting, the army officials presented to Edduba several strategies that can help enhance the province’s peace and order.

Among those strategies that soon to be initiated through the collaboration of the Philippine Army and the Kalinga PLGU are the promotion of ‘respect to customary laws’, a centralized recruitment system for the Philippine Army, and reintegrating rebels into the community through various solutions.

A possibility of having an army training center in Kalinga was also mentioned by Edduba.

It can be recalled that Governor Edduba was honored by the Philippine army for his initiatives and efforts in implementing the Executive Order 70 or the Whole-of-Nation Approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace.
