Philippine Army prefers aspiring soldiers from Baguio, Benguet


Baguio City, Philippines – The Philippine Army reserves higher slots for aspiring soldiers hailing from Baguio City and Benguet, reveals Chief of Army Recruitment – Luzon, Major Deoreyno Jay Maniwang through Bombo Radyo Baguio.


This, accordingly, is because the government troops trust the capability of those from said places.

As a result, the army is encouraging aspiring soldiers from the city and province to apply in the ongoing recruitment process for those who wish to be commissioned officers through Officer Candidate Course (OCC) and OCC - Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program.


Armed forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) is scheduled to be conducted at King’s College of the Philippines at Km. 5 La Trinidad, Benguet on March 06 and 08, while the Army Qualifying Exam and Special Written Exam is set on March 09 at the same college.

Aspirants need to bring the requirements as follows, college diploma, transcript of records, birth certificate issued by Philippine Statistics Authority, and any government-issued ID.


To be qualified, applicants must be a baccalaureate degree holder, natural-born Filipino citizen, single with no parental obligation, at least 5 foot tall (for both male and female), physically and mentally fit, at least 21 years old but not a day older than 27 years old upon oath-taking, and do not have pending cases in any court.


Pre-screening and registration will be done on March 03 to 04, also at King’s College.
