Pick-up truck falls 5 meters in sudden road collapse in Calanasan, Apayao

Apayao, Philippines – Motorists are warned to always take precaution when hitting the road after two individuals were injured in a road collapse at Kilometer 0643, Salagunting, Barangay Eva, Calanasan, Apayao around 5 AM today, October 18, 2022.

Calanasan Municipal Police Station, through the regional Philippine Information Agency, reported that a Blue Toyota Hilux Conquest was traversing the national road from Barangay Sta. Elena, Calanasan towards Claveria, Cagayan when the road suddenly collapsed.

The vehicle fell at around 5 meters deep, causing injuries to the driver and his daughter. The four other passengers were unharmed.

The driver was identified as a certain Luis De Guzman Bataan Jr. while his injured daughter was Kayslee Cris Mangalao Bataan, 25 years old.

The victims were rushed to Barangay Eva Clinic in Calanasan for medical treatment.

Accordingly, the police are coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on the road situation.
