PLGU hires new Provincial Health Officer

Tabuk City, Kalinga–Province of Kalinga recently installed Dr. Edward Tandingan as the new Provincial Health Officer (PHO) II / Provincial Government Assistant Department Head of the province and took his oath on Janauary 25, 2021 in the Provincial Governor’s Office, Capitol Hills, Bulanao Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The Oath-Taking Ceremony began with Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban’s statement: “Na-bendisyunan tatta nga aldaw ta inta’y maimatangan iti panagkari iti maysa nga kabsat ken kailyan nga agbalin nga miyembro iti PLGU family.”

Governor Tubban briefly stated the relation of Dr. Tandingan with the PLGU as the latter was once a member of the PLGU family. He praised the doctor for his sincerity and pure dedication in wanting to be of public service, because he is back to Kalinga from working abroad a true public service needed especially in this time of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In the prayer lead by Dr. Tandingan for the occasion, he sought for Abiding Grace and Anointment and help that he may not seek power or position but rather make him a vessel of God’s Grace to touch the lives of His people and seek to be worthy of His love.

In the end of his prayer, he prayed for God to heal our land and preserve the lives of His people.

Gov. Tubban, in a separate conversation with Dr. Tandingan, instructed the new health officer to plan about the deployment of vaccine for the entire Kalinga. The Provincial Governor’s Office and the Provincial Health Office are working closely for the success of this endeavor.

Dr. Tandingan graduated College of Medicine at St. Louis University in 1985. He worked as a director of the Hellen Keller Corporation in Vietnam from 2004 to 2005. He also worked as Medical Officer V of Tanudan Municipal Hospital from March 2019 to September 2019 then moved to work at Claim Health in Manila as Deputy Chief Party from September 2019 to January 15, 2021.
