PMA recognizes 319 members of ‘TALANG DANGAL’ Class of 2026

Updated: Mar 5, 2023

Baguio City, Philippines – Some 319 cadets officially compose the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2026 following the recognition rites held earlier today, March 04 at the Borromeo Field of Fort General Gregorio H Del Pilar in Baguio City.

“Tagapagtanggol ng Lahing Dakila at Marangal” or TALANG DANGAL Class of 2026 is comprised of 216 males and 103 female cadets. This batch is said to have the highest number of female cadets since PMA accepted females in 1997.

To recall, the plebes had their incorporation rites on August 20 last year before they underwent an 11-month training.

As a tradition, fourth-class cadets, the lowest members of the Cadet Corps of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, were recognized by their upper-class corps through the 'handshakes of recognition.'

In his keynote message, the Chief of Staff of AFP, Gen. Andres Centino, recognized the families of the plebes for sacrificing and supporting their sons and daughters on such a brave journey.

Now that the plebes have leveled to the status of being “Plebes No More, Yearlings Not Yet”, Centino challenged them to brace for lifetime training and discipline inside the academy.
