PNP E-Sumbong system launched, guarantees prompt police response

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Complaints and reports of citizens are now guaranteed to be responded with immediate police action with the launching of the Philippine National Police’ E-Sumbong, an enhanced complaint referral and monitoring system.

PNP Chief PGen Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar launched the said system during the flag raising ceremony at Camp Crame this morning of May 17.

Eleazar said that with the E-Sumbong system, the existing hotline numbers of the different police stations across the country will remain, however, the citizen no matter where they are may send their complaints and reports directly to the national headquarters with the E-Sumbong system.

With the system, the public may send their complaints and concerns through SMS hotline which is 0919601752 for Smart and 09178475757 for Globe; social media account, facebook.com/OfficialPNPhotline; email, e-sumbong@pnp.gov.ph; and web, https://e-sumbong.pnp.gov.ph.

Once the system received the complaint, it will be first scrutinized to avoid fake reporting. After verification, the report, which will be given a referral number, will then be sent to the police station concerned for proper action.

Additionally, having access with the system, the commanders including the PNP Chief can monitor the case and that they can encode and input their instruction.

Further, the system is also connected with the Personnel Accounting Information System(PAIS) Eleazar said, and that if the complaint is about a police personnel, they can check where the said personnel is designated.

“Ang maganda pa dito, this is connected with our PAIS, Personnel Accounting Information System so that kung meron mga report dun against our personnel eh nakalagay dun pangalan lang o kung anuman pwedeng pag-check dun, pwedeng ibangga na sa PAIS natin at malaman natin kung saan siya assigned,” he said.

Eleazar appeals for public to use system responsibly

Eleazar, during the flag raising ceremony, asked the public to only report legitimate and valid information, otherwise, it will not be entered in their system. He likewise appealed to the people not to make the job of the complaint monitoring referral center personnel difficult with hoax reports.
