Tabuk City, Kalinga Province - In response to a series of robbery cases that have stricken Tabuk City recently, the Provincial Government of Kalinga takes swift action to address the growing concerns over public safety.

Kalinga Governor James Edduba revealed a comprehensive strategy is underway to tackle the surge in criminal activity which involves the reshuffling of officers within the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Governor Edduba, accompanied by Vice Governor Jocel Baac, met with the newly appointed PNP Provincial Director (PD), PCol. Freddie Lazona, on Saturday, August 12, to discuss the situation.

Edduba stated that since the majority of these robberies occurred in the city, it is imperative for the local government to collaborate closely with the PD and the PNP to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.

Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Governor Edduba told Station 1 Radio that "the issue of robberies has been deeply concerning to both the citizens and the government of Kalinga. Vice Governor Baac and I are actively engaging with PD Lazona to formulate a comprehensive plan to address this issue head-on."

Governor Edduba emphasized that the provincial government is committed to providing unwavering support to law enforcement agencies, particularly in their efforts to maintain public safety.

During the meeting, PD Lazona announced a forthcoming reshuffling within the PNP in the province as part of the strategic response to the concern raised. This move is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement operations, ensuring a more robust response to unwanted incidents.

Edubba said PD Lazona also assured the public that the PNP is initiating a series of actions to counter robberies in the province.

Governor James, meantime, assured the citizens that the provincial government remains dedicated to collaborating with law enforcement agencies and providing all necessary assistance to keep peace and security in the province.
