Police still investigating leads on killing of lady lawyer in Abra

Bangued, Abra - Although the probers claimed they already have suspects in the killing of a lady lawyer in Abra, no arrest has been made up to this date.

In a recent development of said case, police said they are following up leads following the discovery of the motorcycle in a ravine in Bangued last week.

The suspected get-away vehicle was found dumped near Casamata Hills, Zone 5, Bangued.

The motorcycle was chanced upon by investigators after searching the area where the perpetrators fled after the killing.

The assailants, as shown in CCTV footage, fled the scene and headed in the direction of Barangay Consiliman Zone 2, Bangued, after committing the crime.

To recall, Abra lawyer Ma Saniata Gonzales-Alzate was inside her white Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan parked in front of their gate when the shooting incident transpired.

The back rider was the first one to shoot the victim multiple times, and while they were about to leave the scene, the driver stopped beside the car and shot the lawyer numerous times as well.

The human rights lawyer was quickly ferried to Seares Memorial Hospital but died while being treated.

Her remains were already laid to rest last Saturday, Sept. 23.
