PRO-CAR records 77.3% crime solution efficiency but rape and theft remain high

Baguio City, Philippines- Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-CAR) on Thursday, August 8, claimed to have accomplished 77.32% crime solution efficiency this year as crime incidents throughout the region decreased for the period June 2023 to June 2024 compared to the same period in June 2022 to June 2023.

Last time, a total of 4,300 cases were documented. On the other hand, from June 2023 to 2024, the office consolidated crime records of 3,600.

The main index crimes comprised 555 thefts, 454 rape, 250 physical injuries, 255 robberies, 101 murders, 51 homicides, 64 carnapping, and one account of rape with homicide.

At present, PRO CAR reported 3,300 (77.32%) resolved cases since 2022. With this, RD PRO CAR David Peredo Jr. rated the police accomplishment of the region at 8 out of 10, saying the high rate is attributed to the various programs implemented to reduce the number of cases.

Despite the accomplishment, it was observed that the number of thefts and rapes are still high. "Of the more than 500 most wanted persons, 345 have rape cases," Peredo revealed.

Nevertheless, Police Cordillera assured the public they would intensify their campaigns against crime solutions and prevention, specifically focusing on these rampant types of crimes.

Recently, PRO CAR has demonstrated that they are maintaining their identity as the "home of the most disciplined cops" because of their continuous advocacy on public welfare, and crime mitigation programs.
