PRO-Cordillera takes in 200 new recruits

Baguio City, Philippines – The Police Regional Office in Cordillera has taken in at least 200 new police recruits ready for six-month training, after hurdling the tedious application.

The new police officers composed of 142 males and 58 females bade goodbye to their loved ones after their oathtaking at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023.

The new batch of cops will undergo six months of Public Safety Basic Recruit Course to be administered at Teacher’s Camp, to be followed by another six months of immersion or Field Training Program at the police stations before their deployment to the provinces in the region.

In his talk, Regional Director, PBGEN David Peredo Jr. posed a challenge for the rookie policemen to show that they deserve to be members of PRO – Cordillera which is dubbed as the “Home of the Most Disciplined Cops.”

“I am challenging every one of you to give your best and to not be discouraged by the criticisms,” he said, assuring the recruits of his support and guidance.

Effective Nov. 13, the newly hired officers who are on temporary status as patrolmen and patrolwomen will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668.
