‘Progress of Pasil will be in highest form’- Mayor Malannag Jr. on DPWH-UKDE office construction

Pasil, Kalinga – With the construction of DPWH – Upper Kalinga District Engineering Office in Cagaluan, Pasil, Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. expressed confidence that the town development ‘will be in its highest form.’

Currently, Pasil only has 20 percent share of P130 million. Most of the P26 million fund are used for the road maintenance, said the mayor during the groundbreaking ceremony held Wednesday, Jan.18, 2023.

“Sunga agparparigat tayo during typhoon, especially nga natamaan tayo ti gingined ken typhoon. Enggana tatta, our roads are still unrepaired because of the impact of calamities,” he conveyed.

Now that the building is expected to rise in town, the burden of the local government for roadworks will now be lessened and such fund will be diverted to other development initiatives.

The construction of the building, he further stressed, opens the date for development not only for Pasil but for the entire upper Kalinga district - Tinglayan, Lubuagan, Pasil and Balbalan.

The birth of the office, Malannag informed, came into life through the bill of the late solon Manuel S. Agyao, approved on Feb. 28, 2013

Supported by the incumbent lawmaker who sourced out funding, the construction of the two-story structure is already well underway. Long lot negotiations delayed the project implementation.

Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, in his keynote message in the same event commended Mayor Malannag’s diligence in looking and donating the lot location for the building saying, his efforts will go a long way.
