Kalinga provincial sports fest kicks off today

Rizal, Kalinga – In two days, the Kalinga delegation for the upcoming 2023 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association(CARAA) meet will be known.

This will be right after the Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet which commenced today, April 14, in Rizal town.

In this provincial sports meet, the young yKalinga athletes coming from the different municipalities will compete in various sports activities such as archery, arnis, athletics, billiards, boxing, chess, futsal, gymnastics, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, wrestling, and wushu.

The delegates who arrived in Rizal on April 13 were officially welcomed by Mayor Karl Bugao Baac at the Rizal Municipal Hall ground during the opening program on Friday.

“Idi naamwak nga ditoy nga maangay iti provincial meet ket permi iti ragragsak mi nga taga Rizal ta talaga kay-kayat dakami nga taga Rizal,” he expressed.

Kalinga Schools Division Superintendent Gloria B. Buyao-ao, meanwhile, appreciated the support and unity shown by the leaders and the community to the athletes.

“This unity and this united effort and support that you have given is something that will continue to inspire us to also give our best for our children,” she conveyed.

Buyao-ao encouraged the student players to be motivated as well by this united effort of the yKalingas saying, “I hope that you find greater inspiration in this show of love, care, and concern that everybody has demonstrated for you.”
