PSA-Kalinga brings PhylSys registration services closer to homes

Writer: Christian MalnawaChristian Malnawa

Tabuk City, Kalinga –Having launched its Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) on Wheels initiative on Oct. 04, the Philippine Statistics Authority-Kalinga continues to bring its PhylSys registration services closer to yKalingas in various barangays of Tabuk City.

The office’s first destination was Barangay Agbannawag, followed by Dagupan Weste. This Oct. 12, the office’s personnel are in Bulanao Norte.

In said scheme, the agency brings the registration process directly to the community’s doorsteps to further boost the number of individuals registering for the national identification system.

“This eliminates the need for residents to undertake long journeys to complete their PhilSys registration. The program aims to ensure that every eligible Filipino, regardless of their location, can easily and efficiently register for this vital identification system,” PSA-Kalinga said.

Based on the agency’s data, 163, 374 yKalingas have already completed the registration process, of which 85, 513 have already received their IDs.

The agency now urges those who have not registered yet to take advantage of the opportunity.

In the registration process, the agency assures registrants that their data will be secured with stringent security measures that will be implemented throughout the process.

During their visit to barangays, the agency shall likewise deliver the e-Phil IDs of those who have already registered.

Said ID is the digital version of the PhilID, which is printed on a piece of paper and functions just like the physical ID.

Like the physical PhilID, the digital PhilID has security features and contains demographic data that includes the person’s full name, sex, blood type, marital status, date and place of birth, 1×1 photo, residential address, and a QR code with a unique digital signature.

To recall, the conduct of national ID registration is mandated through Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act, which was signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte in August 2018.

This aims to provide a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens in the country as an official proof of identity in all government and even private transactions.

Through the PhilID, easier access to social welfare benefits, healthcare, and financial services will be all made possible in the future.
