PSA Kalinga to distribute digital national ID in Appas, Tabuk City

Appas, Tabuk City – Digital PhilSys identification of 126 individuals in Appas, Tabuk City will be distributed by the Philippine Statistics Authority - Kalinga on Wednesday, January 18, at their Barangay Hall.

This was announced by the barangay local government unit on their Facebook account Tuesday, January 17.

“Good afternoon apo. Umay ti PSA nu bigat iwaras dagiti TEMPORARY NATIONAL ID dagitoy adda nagan na baba,” the BLGU announced, along with the names of those from Appas who will be claiming their ePhilIDs.

The ePhilID, according to PSA, is the digital version of the PhilID which is printed on a piece of paper.

Like the physical PhilID, the digital PhilID has security features and contains demographic data which include the person’s full name, sex, blood type, marital status, date and place of birth, 1×1 photo, residential address and a QR code with unique digital signature.

The goal of the issuance of said IDs is to close the gap between the number of people who registered and the number of cards that have been delivered since there is a problem with the ‘time of delivery’ of some physical IDs.

Even after claiming their printed ePhilID, the public is still allocated a physical PhilID card that they could still receive.
