PWD in Tuguegarao beaten to death by an unidentified suspect

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – A Person With Disability was beaten to death by an unidentified suspect in Barangay Caritan Norte, Tuguegarao City 1 a.m. on Monday, November 14.

The victim whose name was withheld by police was a shoemaker and a resident of Libag Norte, Tuguegarao City.

Police said a resident in the area called them at 1:30 a.m. on the same date and reported that a man was lying at the side of Campos Street in said barangay.

Responding to the report, Tuguegarao police immediately proceeded to the area and after verifying the report was true, they quickly notified a rescue team to ferry the victim to the hospital.

However, upon reaching the hospital, the victim was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

In the investigation made, a witness said that a quarrel outside his home woke him up.

He then peeped to determine what was happening outside and saw two men fighting. After a while, one of the men hit the victim with a hard object.

When the victim was knocked down, the suspect hit him repeatedly in the head. He then fled from the scene and headed to the southern part of Caritan Norte.

The witness was unable to identify the suspect but said he was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and was riding a bicycle.

Investigation into the case is still ongoing.
