Baguio City, Philippines – People who suffer from violence have a tendency to abuse others and this might be the case of the recruiter of two minors from Pangasinan who were recently rescued from an entertainment bar in Baguio City.

The alleged recruiter was among the three suspects arrested by the personnel of Baguio City Police Office Station 7 for forcing the minors to work at a bar along Lakandula Street. The victims were groomed to serve liquors and cigarettes, and drink with or entertain the customers against their will.

The suspect’s mother claims she is 17 years old and is also a victim of the same violence.

She was turned over to the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office - Silungan Center pending the verification of her age.

Authorities are now waiting for her birth certificate to confirm the claim.

Meanwhile, the bar manager was detained at Baguio City Jail Female Dorm. An employee is also facing charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

The rescued girls are now in the custody of CSWDO - Baguio.
