Man in Cagayan went missing for 2 years, later found in a sack

Peñablanca, Cagayan - The remains of a man who was reported missing two years ago were found inside a sack on Monday, Nov. 13, near a bridge in Alimannao, Peñablanca, Cagayan.

It was the morning of said day when an unknown individual called the victim's family, informing them about a human corpse in said area.

The victim's family proceeded to where the caller told them, and there, they found a sack containing a human skeleton inside. They reported what they saw to the authorities immediately.

Authorities, upon receiving the report, proceeded to the area to investigate.

In their initial report, police disclosed that the discovered skeleton might be a man, based on the white t-shirt that the victim may have been wearing before he was put in the sack.

The victim’s family, in the meantime, confirmed the corpse is their missing relative based on said shirt.

At present, authorities are now establishing the identity of the person who called and gave information to the victim's family, while the corpse is now in the custody of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) for further investigation.
