Tabuk City, Kalinga - The remains of Kalinga's fallen son and hero, Major Jude Salibad Salang-oy, who was killed during the performance of his duty, were brought to his home in Tabuk City this Wednesday, March 12.

Two Black Hawk helicopters of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) carried the remains of the Kalinga pilot along with some of his relatives from Tuguegarao City to the  503rd Infantry Brigade (IB)’s headquarters in Calanan, Tabuk City.

Upon their arrival at said headquarters around 10:30 a.m., Salang-oy was given honors by the PAF’s Tactical Operations Group 2, 503rd IB, and the 5th Installation Management Battalion.

A necrological service followed at the Provincial Capitol, led by the officialdom of Kalinga, including Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, Governor James Edduba, and Board Member Atty. Danzel Langkit, among other officials and employees of the PLGU.

The service served as a venue for Salang-oy’s friends, fellow soldiers, and fellow iKalingas to honor his gallant service and pay their respects to him, whose bravery and dedication to his country will not be forgotten.

The attendees also expressed their deepest sympathies to Salang-oy’s family.

After the necrological service, his remains were escorted to his family’s home in Purok 1 Bulanao, Tabuk City, where his loved ones and relatives gathered in private remembrance.

Ikalingas’ final tribute to Salang-oy will take place on Saturday, March 15, as they lay him to his final resting place at the Good Shepherd’s Memorial Park.
