Updated: 1 day ago

Tanudan, Kalinga – The health of the constituents still remains one of the priorities of the Tanudan Local Government Unit, and thus they provided free check-ups and medical screening during the Kape Festival to the town’s people.

The LGU through the Municipal Health Office, along with partner agencies and stakeholders, held the Health and Wellness drive on June 25 in Banagao, Poblacion.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Sandra Valledor relayed they pushed for the activity during the festivity since most people in Tanudan are in one area. She added they wanted to take the opportunity to check their health and extend health services to them.

“Nandito na sila, maka-catch na namin sila,” she said.

Among the services offered include medical consultation, cervical cancer screening, implant, and dental fluoride varnish application. Apart from these, there were free circumcision, free haircut, blood donation drive, blood typing, distribution of dental kits and reading glasses, and health education campaign on family planning, mental health, HIV, and smoking and vaping.

With the success of the event, the MHO thanked the agencies who extended their services in the Health and Wellness drive like the Lumin-awa medical team, Lumin-awa cops, Kalinga Provincial Hospital, and the Philippine Red Cross Kalinga.

The LGU headed by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag likewise expressed gratitude to the stakeholders, volunteers, and donors for their generosity and time they allotted for the people of Tanudan.
