Retired cop found dead in Baguio City seminary


Baguio City, Philippines – A retired cop who went missing on December 27, 2022, was found dead in a seminary compound in Baguio City.


While cleaning at the Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary Compound, stay-in workers of said seminary discovered the corpse on January 4, 2023.


When found, the man was wearing a gray jacket, red jogging pants, a pink scarf, and a pair of black shoes.

Upon discovery of the said body, police were notified urging them to verify the veracity of the report.


There, they saw the body of the victim identified as Rogelio Mejia, 79, a resident of Lourdes Proper, Baguio City.


His remains were sent to a morgue for autopsy.


Meantime, one of the victim’s children told police their father is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. He said his father never returned when he left their house in December last year.


In Isabela, another cadaver was also found floating at the Ganano River in Echague.


He was identified by authorities as Avenson Nares, 18, a resident of San Isidro, Isabela.


The report said the young man was suffering from a mental illness. The victim was first reported missing last Tuesday, January 3.
