Tinglayan farmers get monitoring cards to be utilized in getting gov’t interventions

Tinglayan, Kalinga – With them getting their Intervention Monitoring Card (IMC), which serves as their identification and cash card, rice farmers in Tinglayan may now access financial assistance from the national government more easily.

Distribution of the card started Thursday, Oct. 26, and as of this writing, 249 farmers have already received theirs.

Said number is expected to increase as 1,071 individuals were listed to get their cards from the Office of the Municipal Agricultural Services (OMAS).

The card, according to the office, is a multipurpose card that contains the beneficiaries’ name, photo, QR code, RSBSA (Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture) number, and e-wallet card.

This will be utilized in getting government interventions like the P5,000 Rice Farmers’ Financial Assistance (RFFA) and other financial benefits with the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law, or RA 11203.

“It is one of the initiatives of the government to provide financial inclusivity to farmers and provides rice farmers not only with a tangible tool to access support and resources but also highlights the community's commitment to strengthening its agricultural backbone,” says the Municipal Information Office.

Meanwhile, the local government now calls on those rice farmers who are on the list to get their cards at the Tinglayan Municipal Hall, particularly at the OMAS.

To recall, it was also in June this year that 940 farmers in the locality were given IM cards, which were also utilized by recipients for the same reason.
