Riders from Kalinga caught with Marijuana oil in Mt. Province


Sadanga, Mt. Province – On their way to Mt. Province from Kalinga, two men riding a motorcycle without a plate number, were caught in possession of alleged bottle of Marijuana oil at a checkpoint in Sadanga, Mountain Province after they were asked to show documents of their motorcycle.


The Philippine National Police Cordillera identified the suspects as Nelson Collasit Banson, 38, driver, resident of Callagdao, Bulanao, and Flores Balnao Maguilao, 21, resident of Tulgao West, Tinglayan.

According to the police report, the two were arrested when the police and the PDEA set-up a checkpoint afternoon of March 16 after they received information on alleged illegal drug transportation.


At the checkpoint, Banson and Maguilao were flagged down and were asked to present documents of their motorcycle which doesn’t have a plate number. When the compartment was opened by the suspects to look for the certificate of ownership, authorities notice a 2x2 bottle allegedly containing Marijuana oil worth at least P21,000 and 5 pieces of empty amber bottle.


The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
