Rizal, Kalinga vaccinates 1,759 kids ages 5-11 years old

Rizal, Kalinga – A total of 1,759 children ages 5-11 years old have received their Covid-19 vaccine in Rizal as of April 13, 2022, says Municipal Health Officer.


Dr. Brendalyn Sebastian informed that of the 1,744 children, 936 are already fully vaccinated while 823 received their initial dose of the vaccine and still waiting for their second dose schedule.


According to Sebastian, the Resbakuna for 5-11 years old in Rizal was launched on February 23,2022 at the Rizal Eco-Tourism Building where 250 children participated.

As the Municipal Health Officer, Sebastian recounted that her daughter was the first one to be vaccinated during the launching of the vaccination of kids in Rizal.


“Adda dagidiay daduma a mamatpati latta iti fake news nga ‘urayen mi pay nu anya nagbalinan na dagitoy nabakunaan’ kasdiay ngay. Ket kas Municipal Health Officer ket diay maymaysa nga anak ko, isu iti first a nabakunaan idi damo tapnu maipakitak met nga I walk the talk,” she narrated, adding that even the children of the Rural Health Unit employees have received their jab.

With the ongoing roll-out of Covid-19 vaccine in Rizal, Sebastian appealed to parents not to believe the fake news being circulated about the vaccine, specifically on social media and instead have their kids vaccinated for their protection and safety amidst the pandemic.


The Municipal Health Officer relayed that Covid-19 vaccination is being conducted from Mondays to Fridays at the Rizal Eco-Tourism Building except on holidays and that walk-ins are being accommodated. She also added that vaccination at the different barangays is ongoing especially when there are requests, to bring the vaccine closer to the people
