‘Sana masaya kayo’; flowers bouquet misdelivered on Valentine’s Day in Baguio City

Baguio City, Philippines – “Sana masaya kayo sinira niyo araw ko.” This was what a woman could say after a bouquet of flowers was mistakenly delivered to her on Valentine’s Day.

The bouquet of red and white roses bearing a note, “To my IDDU, My Forever Valentine. I LOVE YOU. HAPPY VALENTINE’s” was sent to Grace Mendez on February 14.

Touched by the gesture, Mendez told Baguio City Public Information Office she was teary and immediately called her husband to thank him for the flowers.

However, that affection she felt at the moment dissipated after realizing that the romantic gesture was not for her.

"Inaway PA ako (ng asawa ko) sabi baka may secret admirer ako kaya sabi ko... Salamat sa mag 'IDD.' Sana masaya kayo sinira niyo araw ko! ," she amusedly said.

Mendez then sought the help of the Baguio PIO to locate ‘IDDU’.

"Wrong delivery... Paki hanap na lang sa Baguio kung sino po yung mag 'IDDU' dyan. Kawawa naman di niya natanggap flowers niya. Nasa BHF PAWNSHOP LOWER SESSION ROAD po yung flowers paki claim na lang... Seryoso po ito," she said.

It didn't take a while for the delivery guy to come back, and apologized as the recipient's name was also Grace.
