Santa Marcela, Apayao to receive 2 National, 6 Regional Awards from DILG

Santa Marcela, Apayao - The municipality of Santa Marcela, led by Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, will receive two (2) national and six (6) regional functionality awards from the Department of Interior and Local Government on October 28.

A letter to Mayor Martinez from the DILG informed of the various recognitions to be conferred to the LGU after it passed several assessments.

Said accolades include the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) functionality Audit CY 2022(National), Peace and Order Council (POC) functionality Audit CY 2022 (National), Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Peace and Order Council (POC) functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), Local Council for Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Audit 2023 (Regional), Local Project Monitoring Committee Functionality Audit CY 2023 (Regional), and Subaybayani Regional Awardee 2024.

Mayor Martinez will personally receive the said awards at the Crown Legacy Hotel, Legarda Rd., during the Regional Awarding ceremony in Baguio City simultaneous with the celebration of 33rd Local Government Month on October 28.

In her statements, Mayor Martinez lauded the LGU personnel and barangay officials saying the achievement is a testament of the municipality's exemplary performance in local governance, and adherence to the DILG orders and memoranda.

She added that the success demonstrates Santa Marcela's commitment to delivering quality public services and fostering community development.

"We are honored and grateful for these recognitions. Truly, it's an evidence of our collective efforts towards sustainable development and good governance," she expressed.
