Santa Marcela BESO reps oriented on gov't employment opportunities

Santa Marcela, Apayao -Representatives from the Barangay Employment Service Offices (BESO) in Santa Marcela went through an orientation on their specific functions regarding employment opportunities.

 

The orientation was held at the EKB clubhouse earlier today, Feb.20, conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-Apayao) through its Provincial Head Jane Y. Adalan, Livelihood Focal Person Jhun C. Saleo-an, and Community Affairs Assistant I - Peso designate Jeaza Gem Cabigas.

 

According to DOLE,  as BESO personnel they are responsible foe helping the PESO with the following tasks: submit to PESO any Job Vacancies available in the baranggays, refer job applicants for possible employment to the PESO Office, identify qualified SPES, LIVELIHOOD,TUPAD, and GIP in their barangays, ready the profile of families and their members for easy verification of program beneficiaries, inform and disseminate all information on DOLE programs to the community including job fair, assist the PESO in all programs and activities, assist in the monitoring of livelihood assisted projects, assist in the monitoring of employment status of GIP and SPES, assist in the profiling of child laborers, profiling of all skilled workers, and profiling of all newly employed persons in the barangays both in private and government Offices.

 

Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, in her talk, encouraged said barangay personnel to provide timely assistance to the PESO emphasizing that working together is the key to progress and community development. Martinez also thanked the DOLE for the existence of the program highlighting its benefits to the townspeople.
