Santa Marcela kicks offs 20th Balangkoy Festival with exciting events

Santa Marcela, Apayao – Santa Marcela town kicked off its three-day celebration for their 57th Founding Anniversary and 20th Balangkoy Festival featuring a float parade of Libnos ken Taer candidates, an Ecumenical service, and Sashing in the morning of June 15,2024 at the EKB GYMNASIUM.

The grand parade included the barangay officials and municipal officials, accompanied by bands from several schools.

In the afternoon, the agro-industrial fair was launch which showcases the local products of the town from their famous cassava cakes, carrot cakes, pastries, agricultural produce, woven products, processed foods, and other various souvenirs.

This year's theme “Pursuits toward local prosperity – a collective responsibility” aptly reflects the essence of the municipality's shared vision and the collaborative spirit that propels the community forward, achieving profound success.

Marking another milestone in the town’s history, the festivity brought together residents and visitors, fostering a strong sense of community pride, cultural heritage, and a perfect amalgamation of tradition, entertainment, and a showcase of local talent.

In the evening, Santa Marcela shall host its people’s night where visitors and returning OFWs are given a time to be part of the town’s celebration.
