Santa Marcela LGU workforce undergo two-day road mapping workshop for DANUM Project

Santa Marcela, Apayao - A two-day road mapping workshop was provided to 14 personnel of Santa Marcela LGU to aid the implementation of the DANUM Project of the DOST in town.

The project which costs P1,530,000 million is an innovative initiative designed to enhance the management and assessment of water resources through the application of advanced technologies and smart decision support systems.

The project aims to provide our community with a robust framework for sustainable water resource management, ensuring that our water resources are utilized efficiently and responsibly.

This directly benefits the 13 barangays in town, contributing both towards sustainable development and resolving current and future water resource challenges.

The workshop, held on November 5-6, at the ECB hall, is needed for the personnel to craft the SSC STI Road map of the LGU prior to implementation of the DANUM project, which was a result of a Memorandum of Agreement between the DOST and the LGU, signed on September 26, 2024.

This came after Santa Marcela was identified as the Science and Technology partner in the province for the DOST’s ‘Smart Decision Support Tool in the Assessment and Management of Water Resources.’

Personnel who underwent the workshop included those from Engineering, Treasury, LEDIPO, PESO, RSI, MPDO, Agriculture Office, and Mayor’s office.

Mayor Evelyn Martinez, in her message, expressed her appreciation to the DOST for said project and affirmed her support, ensuring residents its potential utilization.

“ I am very thankful kadagiti offices nga involved, nangruna iti DOST nga nangted iti daytoy nga project ket maap-appreciate ko la unay agituy a program nga maiteted iti municipyu mi, I will make it sure this will become profitable to all the residents in the municipality, ’’ said Mayor Martinez.
