Search continues to find 34-year-old man who drowned in Enrile, Cagayan

Enrile, Cagayan - A search and rescue operation is still ongoing to retrieve the body of a 34-year-old man who drowned along the Cagayan River in Enrile on Tuesday, November 26.

 

The victim, Jaypee Valderama, a construction worker, is a resident of Ballesteros, Cagayan.

 

The incident was reported to the MDRRMO-Enrile at around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Cagayan Information Office.

 

The drowning happened in Barangay 2, Enrile, where Valderama and his friends were spending their time by the river.

 

It was said that Valderama swam to the deep portion of the river and was taken by the water currents and drowned.

 

His friends attempted to save him, but the strong current prevented them to reach him.

 

Despite their prompt arrival of rescuers at the scene, members of the MDRRMO-Enrile, BFP, and police were unable to locate Valderama's body that day.

 

The body is currently being searched by rescuers who are still at work in the area.
