Secondary school in Rizal, Kalinga ransacked by burglars during UNDAS

Tabuk City, Kalinga – While schools in Kalinga were unoccupied during the UNDAS or the All Souls’ day and All Saints’ Day, some unscrupulous people took the long weekend as an opportunity to ransack a faculty room at the Rizal National School of Arts and Trades(RNSAT) in Liwan West.

One of the RNSAT teachers told GURU Press Cordillera that they found their faculty room in disarray when they reported back to work this Monday, November 4 after the long weekend from October 31 – November 3.

He described that all tables and drawers were opened but the burglars only got the valuables placed inside the table with a padlock. The thieves destroyed said lock and took the DepEd-issued blue laptop and some money collections.

“Kinuha ung Deped-issued laptop (blue color). Ito ung laptop na ginagamit namin for documentation and journalism purposes. Nawala din mga coins and paper bills,” the faculty member said.

The teacher further revealed that the suspects gained entry to their faculty room by destroying the wood covering the transom just above the door.

Police investigators who were notified of the incident are currently looking into the case and tracing possible people behind the incident.
