2 guards shot 2 cops in Aparri, Cagayan over liquor

Aparri, Cagayan – Two security guards shot on Sunday, May 07, the two policemen in Aparri, Cagayan over liquor, reported Cagayan Provincial Information Office.

The investigator, Police Staff Sergeant Jonathan Lazaro, revealed that while the two cops were monitoring the area, they sat for a bit in front of a store. Just then, two men suddenly arrived, persisting to drink liquor inside the store.

The cops reprimanded the two but one of them drew his gun and fired at the cops.

Police Corporal Rannie Torrano, 32, from Barangay San Jose, Lal-lo sustained gunshot wounds on his left shoulder and right leg, while Police Corporal Ryan Rayray, 28, from Barangay Paddaya, Aparri was hit in his left leg. The policemen who were both assigned to Aparri Police Station were rushed to the hospital and are now in stable condition.

Through a hot pursuit operation, the two suspects were caught. They were hidden by authorities as 'Joseph' from Barangay Punta and 'Sherwin' from Barangay Dodan.

The security guards are now in the custody of Aparri police.
