Sen. Cynthia Villar commends Kalinga for bagging Guinness World Records

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Senator Cynthia Villar recently lauded the Province of Kalinga for breaking and setting two world records last February 2023.


During the 4th Bodong Festival and Kalinga’s 28th Founding Anniversary on February 15 this year, 8,121 gong players and banga dancers from the different municipalities came together to perform in the “Awong Chi Gangsa, Agtu’n Chi Banga”.

The province grabbed the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Gong Ensemble” and “Largest Banga Dance” after 3,440 gong players and 4,681 yKalinga Banga Dancers performed in the event.


With this feat, Villar praised the province through P.S. Resolution No. 493 she recently filed at the senate, commending Kalinga for the citations and ‘for bringing pride and honor to the country’.


The senator further conveyed that the performance of the yKalingas during the “Awong Chi Gangsa, Agtu’n Chi Banga” showed the Filipinos’ talent, culture, discipline, and determination.


“The exceptional performance displayed by the participants of the “Awong Chi Gangsa, Agtu’n Chi Banga” has shown the global talent, culture, discipline, and determination of the Filipinos,” she wrote.
