Sen. JV Ejercito renews support to Kalinga Prov’l Hospital

Tabuk City, Kalinga – In his visit to Kalinga province on Friday, April 21, Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito renewed his support for the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.


Ejercito, the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography conducted an ocular inspection of the Operating and Delivery Room of KPH. He helped in sourcing out fund for the construction of the Kalinga Children's Ward and Wellness Center in said hospital.

The senator was given the name “Fanna” as an adopted son of Kalinga. “Fannah” is a popular Kalinga Hero depicted in Kalinga Epic Stories called "Ullalim", he played an important role in all the dominant episodes of the story focusing on his valor and daring conquests, according to Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i.


In his talk earlier today, he said the government hospital is in need of 30 to 50 additional rooms, including equipment and facilities to better serve and accommodate patients thus, the fund necessity.


Speaking to yKalingas, he pledged to continue supporting the advancement of the infirmary, including its upgrading to a Level 2 hospital and its nationalization.

The Sanguniang Panlalawigan, under the leadership of Vice Governor Jocel Baac, recently passed a landmark legislation supporting Governor James Edduba's priority thrust to improve the quality and accessibility of hospital services in Kalinga, says the Provincial Information Office in a press release.


The move, however, requires a collaborative effort among stakeholders.


Joining Edduba in welcoming the guest were Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, SP members, KPH Officer in Charge, Dr. Rey Aranca, Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, Lubuagan Mayor Joel Tagaotao, among others.
