Severed Bodong between Tulgao and Uma, Lubuagan tribes restored

Updated: Mar 4, 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – After a year of severed peace pact, the Bodong forged between the Tulgao tribe in Nambaran and the Uma, Lubuagan has been successfully restored recently.

Nambaran Punong Barangay, Jimmy Suwagon informed that the two tribes gathered together in Nambaran on February 10 and 11 this year to celebrate their reinstated peace pact.

According to him, their Bodong with Uma has been around for approximately six decades now. However, it was last year when the peace pact was broken due to a brawl involving the young ones of both tribes in Bulanao.

“Nabayag nga nag-exist ngem idi last year, adda iti napasamak nga rambol dagiti babaros, nagsisinnaktan da. Adda iti dinmara isu nga naikkat diay peace pact gapu idiay a pasamak,” he recounted.

After the case was settled, the two tribes convened a year later for the restoration of their Bodong. During the celebration, the Tulgao and Uma tribes put their Pagta into writing as the existing one was only done verbally.

Suwagon relayed they are waiting for Uma to invite them for a gathering in their area.
