Siblings in Peñablanca, Cagayan arrested for raping cousin

Peñablanca, Cagayan – Two brothers in Peñablanca, Cagayan were arrested on Monday, October 3, for allegedly raping their cousin, a minor who later became pregnant, according to police.

The accused, who are in the 20-22 age group, face two counts of rape, each with no recommended bail.

The older brother is a 21-year-old and tagged as Top 3 most wanted in Cagayan Valley, while the younger one is a 20-year-old – also a top most wanted person at the provincial level. Both are residents of Barangay Namabbalayan, Peñablanca.

As disclosed by police, the 20-year-old was the first to sexually abuse the victim in 2015. The older brother, meantime, abused the victim, who was then 13 in September 2021.

In October and December 2021, the younger brother again molested the victim, while the older sibling raped the victim anew in January 2022.

Peñablanca police said the two were under the influence of liquor when they did the heinous crime.

The victim kept mum for some time due to threats made by the siblings. The victim only managed to tell her parents when she discovered she had a menstruation delay.

The parents of the victim were shocked, unable to believe the two were able to do such immoral acts as they are blood-related.

The two suspects are now detained at the Cagayan Provincial jail.
