SLU alumni are Top 4 and Top 8 in Feb. 2025 Mechanical Engineers Board Exam

Baguio City, Philippines – The two top spots in the February 2025 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination(MELE) have been secured by two graduates of the Saint Louis University in Baguio City.

 

On February 17 – 19, 6,318 mechanical engineering graduates across the country took the MELE at testing centers in NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

                

Five days later, the Professional Regulation Commission announced that 48.89% or 3,089 of the examinees made it to the list of passers.

 

Among these passers, 10 individuals were recognized by the PRC for having earned the highest average score in the board exam. Two of them are SLU alumni - Lorie Jay S. Dela Cruz and Chance B. Baladad of SLU.

 

Dela Cruz earned the top 4 spot with 90.80% average while Baladad was named top 8 with 89.50%. Including these two topnotchers, SLU produced 112 new mechanical engineers.

 

The February 2025 MELE was led by a graduate of the University of Cebu, Nico Anthony Tejano, who earned 93.50% average, the highest rating from the said batch of examinees.
