SLU is TOP university in Cordillera, Northern Luzon – Webometrics ranking 2024

Baguio City, Philippines – The Saint Louis University was named the leading university not just in the Cordillera but also in Northern Luzon.

This is based on the July 2024 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, an ‘initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spain’s largest research body, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).

The Webometrics is described to be the ‘largest academic ranking’ of higher education institutions(HEIs) in the world which provides ‘independent, objective, free, and open scientific exercise for providing reliable, multidimensional, updated and useful information’ on the performance of the different universities in the world.

It uses webometric ‘all missions’ and bibliometric ‘research mission’ as indicators.  

In the July 2024 Webometrics ranking, SLU landed on top 21 among the universities in the Philippines.  The university likewise achieved the highest ranking among the HEIs in the Cordillera and in Northern Luzon.

Webometrics named De La Salle University Manila, University of the Philippines, and the Ateneo de Manila University as the top 3 HEIs in the Philippines.

Harvard, meantime, dominated the world ranking, followed by Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, respectively.
