SLU produces more than a hundred new physicians, ranks 9th in board exam

Baguio City, Philippines – The Saint Louis University recently produced more than a hundred new doctors, and they likewise got the 9th highest passing rate in the October 2024 Physicians Licensure Examination(PLE).

 

Earlier this month, SLU sent 155 medicine graduates to take the physician board exam on October 5, 6, 12, and 13.

 

Five days after the last day of exam, the Professional Regulation Commission through Commission Resolution No. 1814 series of 2024 announced that 3,845 or 58.26% of the 6,600 PLE takers passed. Of the figure, 129 are graduates of SLU.

 

These new physicians from SLU delivered 83.23% passing rate, placing the university at number 9 in the list of top-performing schools. 

 

SLU lauded its School of Medicine for this feat.

 

This year’s October PLE was dominated by the University of the Philippines – Manila with 96.97% passing rate or 160 passers out of 165 examinees. The university was followed by Cebu Institute of Medicine with 95.31% passers.

 

PRC administered the October 2024 Physician Licensure Examination at testing centers in Baguio, Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
