Paracelis, Mt. Province – The 11-month-old baby of a young mother who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner in Paracelis due to jealousy is fighting for his life.

Baby Josiah Azrael, the son of the late Clexy Ilacad, is diagnosed with a deadly liver condition called biliary atresia and is desperately in need of a liver transplant.

Only one in every 30,000 kids is born with the disease, which affects the liver and prevents bile from reaching the small intestine.

Friends and family of Clexy are now taking their plea to the public to collect funds for the transplant procedure of the baby, hoping to save, if not prolong, the baby’s life.

“This [liver transplant] may not guarantee him a long life but at least he will get to experience growing up, playing, having friends, and learning how to love and appreciate life,” Maria Sunshine Corazon Tesoro, Clexy’s friend, said in a Facebook post.

Tesoro said that with the current health condition of the baby, he only has a few remaining years to live, thus the need for an immediate liver transplant.

Although the child underwent a Kasai procedure, Tesoro said the procedure failed.

When Clexy was still living, she worked day and night and even sacrificed her own dreams just to provide for the needs of her son, Tesoro added.

“Azrael’s mother was a kind-hearted soul with a strong persona and was willing to do everything to give her son a chance to live longer and experience the world,” says Tesoro, adding that Clexy was supposed to be the baby’s liver donor but was not able to it since she was murdered 25th of this month.

“Through your help, we get to continue his mother’s hopes and dreams for him. Let us all be his guardian angels on Earth in thoughts and in prayers. Let's help share this post so it can reach wider connections,” she pleads.

To help the baby, you can send any amount to Deborah Edduba Ganga’s Gcash – 09281904600, Teroso’s BPI account – 8529720611, or through Paypal - tesorosunshine@gmail.com .
